Please join us for our Annual General Meeting – a chance to give feedback, to see how the club is run by the society, and/or to offer to get involved. Elected board members look after duties such as Director at Large / Secretary / Bookings / Publicity, etc.

These next positions will be elected as simply “directors” (New Societies Act). However, the job categories will still need to be done, so we’ve left the titles for information purposes.

Also at our AGM, we will be presenting and voting to adopt this revised constitution, as well as our revised bylaws, to bring our structure in line with the New Societies Act.

(Revised) CONSTITUTION OF THE VERNON JAZZ SOCIETY
The name of the society is Vernon Jazz Society.

The purposes of the society are:
(a) to provide live jazz music and entertainment to the members and guests of the Vernon Jazz Society
(b) to support and promote jazz music locally, and
(c) to promote and support the enjoyment of jazz music by youth

This society is a member-funded society. It is funded primarily by its members to carry on activities for the benefit of its members. On its liquidation or dissolution, this society may distribute its money and other property to its members.
